TissueGene
Business Development and Alliances:
TissueGene
recognizes that in order to prosper in today’s economic
climate, strategic alliances are an essential component of
a successful business model. TissueGene
is prioritizing key components of its discovery process and
using its strength in developing business relationships, in
order to accomplish the necessary research goals in the most
optimal and efficient manner.
We are currently in the process of strategic pharmaceutical
alliance recruitment, and are aiming to be an essential partner
in the field of cell-therapy and regenerative medicine. We
are always seeking relevant partners in areas of strategic
interest, including neurology, rheumatology, and orthopedics.
We currently select partners based on a variety of criteria
but ultimately keeping in mind that it is essential to have
a complementary business vision.
Applications and Markets
The Company’s technology can be used to treat and repair
damaged tendons, ligaments, cartilage and bones. Initially,
the Company is focusing on providing a permanent cure for
osteoarthritis (OA), a debilitating condition that affects
approximately one out of every seven people. Currently, the
medical costs associated with OA are over $16 Billion per
year in the United States alone.
Expanding out into other clinical areas, Tissuegene
will focus on similar applications in sports medicine (ligament
and tendon repair especially) and degenerative disorders such
as diabetic fracture healing and osteoporosis. Finally, TissueGene
will utilize the experience gained from the first two focus
areas to expand out into other
areas.
TissueGene considers
the following areas our top business priority:
Licensing of complimentary therapeutics
Gene and/or Immunoregulation through RNAi
Cell mediated therapy delivery mechanisms
Mechanisms of Tissue Regeneration
